Game production is the process by which developers create the gaming environment, playable characters, weapons, vehicles, buildings, and other interactive items. This process differs from film production in that film assets are only meant to be viewed, whereas game assets must operate in real time and respond to the player.
The 3D Game Design course provides an overview of the processes for creating game-ready assets and interactive environments. The creation process for characters, objects, environments, and levels is discussed, including the design, modelling, optimisation, and texturing required to integrate these components into current game engines.
