Building Worlds Beyond the Camera Lens

Master Cinematic Compositing & Post-Production in Our Visual Effects (VFX) Course

Most of the explosion shots, future cityscapes, creature effects, environmental effects, and big action shots found in movies and digital media have not been captured fully through live-action shots. In the visual effects field, artists merge live-action footage with computer-generated effects to create sequences that could not be filmed due to risk or costs.

In our Visual Effects (VFX) class, we explore the various ways that special production methods can manipulate or change films. Students discover how processes such as green screen compositing, rotoscoping, motion tracking, match moving, digital matte painting, visual compositing, and CGI manipulation contribute to making the visual experience seamless. Students also learn about how camera movements, lighting continuity, perspective, and environmental effects make the visuals believable.

Students at eQuinoxx engage in production-related VFX exercises that replicate the workflow in actual post-production. Students are engaged in background replacement, removal of objects, adding CGI to live video, creation of visual effects, and enhancement of visuals using compositing. Students get an opportunity to learn processes that are similar to those followed by film studios, OTT content producers, ad agencies, content providers, and post-production facilities to create visual effects content.
